The Sapporo Snow Festival

One of the main reasons for me being in Japan is the Sapporo Snow Festival. This is something that's been on my list ever since I first came to Japan in 2017. Being someone who prefers the colder climates, the Snow festival has my name written all over it! As with most things, the Snow festival has been cancelled during the pandemic. But I'm here now and I'm excited to explore! The Snow festival...

Hakone

Hakone Round Course Today I am leaving Tokyo and spending an evening in Hakone. The Hakone region is known for it's hot springs and is a popular destination nearby to Tokyo. Part of my plan is to make my way around the Hakone Round Course. This is a series of different transportation methods that take you around the region. It includes a bus, ship, ropeway, cable car and train. All of these...

Yokohama

Cup Noodles Museum My plan for today is to spend the day in Yokohama. After about an hour on the train, my first stop is the Cup Noodles Museum. Like many, Cup Noodles has been a big part of diet growing up. So being able to check out a museum dedicated to the convenient treat is definitely a highlight. There are a few parts of the museum itself. As part of the general admission you will get...

TeamLab is like an interactive art exhibit that marries art, technology and nature that allows for visitors to experience and learn about the world around them. I am always hearing about how cool these exhibits are so I'm excited to be visiting today. Team labs...

A little trouble in Tokyo

Flying to Tokyo After killing a few hours at e Jakarta airport, the check in counters for my flight to Tokyo opens. I quickly check in and make my way to the Plaza Premium Lounge in the terminal 3. It's actually pretty nice and spacious, so if you ever find yourself in this airport its worth a visit! After a quick shower and a few snacks I make my way to the gate where I board my flight to Japan....

Jakarta

Old Town with Jakarta Good Guide After a much needed night of rest, I wake up feeling better and ready to explore Jakarta. Before coming here, I had found a free walking tour of Jakarta's old town with Jakarta Good Guide. While I don't get to go on free walking tours all that often, I do find them to be an excellent way to get a glimpse of a new place. The "free" helps with cost, but I also find...
